Art doesn’t have to be overly large and complex. In fact, if you can imagine it, you can create it as art. Take these images as an example:

I needed two pieces of artwork – cheaply and quickly! – to replace two self-portraits my kids didn’t believe represented them well anymore (they felt their own images were too childish!). Not wanting to spend oodles of money and lots of time shopping, I decided to use this as an opportunity to drive home a message I repeat often: Stay Focused.

The images, created in a photo editing software program, are simple words along with a few fun shapes (all done with fonts), done in black, white and gray. For this low-budget project, the image resolution is 72dpi and printing was done on basic white printer paper via an ink jet printer. To make sure the paper images last a while, I laminated each of the two papers with self-adhesive laminating sheets.

About the psd files – The text is in image form. You may download fonts seperately (vdub, fun fish and dextor) from font-specfic sites. Each psd file is between 3.9 and 5mb.
