Gel Dots For Computer Keys

If you frequently find yourself pounding away at a computer keyboard in less than optimal lighting conditions, there is a simple solution to finding those favorite keys with ease in even the worst light.

geldotsThe solution is gel dots. Also called bumpers, the dots are easy to find, inexpensive and easy to apply. Best of all, this is a quick fix with long-term value. Simply apply a single dot to your favorite (clean and dry) key(s). The dots come with an adhesive backing and require no more than thumb pressure to apply.

Usually found in the hardware or safety section of major stores, the gel dots product will come 12 or more to a pack. They can also be found in different shapes. I prefer the round type, but square is also available. Look for the small dots so they won’t impede closing laptop lids.

I’ve applied dots to my favorite keys, the F5 and Pg Up & Pg Dn. In a short time, I’d trained myself to find the dots with my fingers without as much as a glance towards the keyboard.
