Love that floor lamp but hate seeing the cord? Have a wired network? That thick cord can look pretty bad along the edges of a room. There are numerous ways to hide unsightly cords, most involving covering them up with another unsightly item. Try this instead:
With a flathead screwdriver, gently push the cord under the baseboard of the room.
In architecture, a baseboard (also called skirting board, skirting, or mopboard) is a wooden board, normally two to four inches high, covering the lowest part of an interior wall. Its purpose is to cover the joint between the wall surface(usually plaster or drywall) and the floor. It covers the inevitable uneven edge as flooring meets the wall. Go slowly, only pushing the cord about an inch at a time. This can be time consuming, but you’ll never have to look at those cables again. Moving along slowly also allows you to test the space under the baseboard as you work. Not all structures are built (or leveled) alike, so your mileage may vary. If you encounter a spot where the cord just won’t go, don’t force it. It’s best to simply work around that area. If you have several cords to hide, another method may work better.
Remember, be gentle during this process. The last thing you’ll want is a nicked 25′ network cable!
